Four Cyclone track and field athletes will be heading to Albuquerque, N.M., to compete in the 2014 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 14 and 15.

Christina Hillman, Edward Kemboi, Cameron Ostrowski and Ejiro Okoro are the four athletes with NCAA-qualifying marks for the Cyclones this season.

Hillman qualified for the meet in the shot put event, where she had the top throw in the nation until this past weekend. She will enter the meet as the second seed in the event, behind Kearston Peoples of Missouri.

Hillman has won the shot put in every meet she has competed in this season, except the USA Indoor Championships, where she was still the top collegiate qualifier.

Kemboi is the top qualifier in the 800-meter race. His time of 1:45.98 is the fastest time in the nation on the season. Kemboi won the Big 12 Champion in the event this season and is a two-time All-American.

Ejiro Okoro will run in the women’s 800-meter event where she will be the No. 3 seed. Okoro set the indoor school record at the ISU Classic earlier this year and has finished the event in the top-5 in every meet this season.

Ostrowski jumped his way into the NCAA Indoor tournament with a jump of 7’3.5″ at the Big 12 Indoor Championship. He will come in as the seventh seed in the high jump event.

All four athletes were crowned as Big 12 Champions in their respective events last weekend.
