The ISU women’s track and field team wrapped up the three-day Bill Bergan Invitational on Saturday. Host Iowa State took on Texas, Kansas State, North Dakota State, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.

The women’s team crowned a few winners, and broke a few meet and school records in the process.

Christina Hillman dominated the field in the shot put event with a throw of 55-03.00, which was six feet farther than the second place finisher’s best throw. The All-American has won the event in all three meets so far this season.

Ejiro Okoro got off to a solid start in her season debut by winning the 800-meter run. Okoro set the Bergan Invitational meet record in the event and broke her own record she set last season. Her time of 2:05.78 is the third fastest time in the nation this season in the 800-meter run.

Kendra White broke the program record in the 400-meter dash in a third place finish. White broke her own personal record in the event by nearly a full second.

Bethanie Brown and Sam Bluske finished first and third, respectively, in the 3,000-meter run.
