Cyclones fall to West Virginia 67-56

No. 23 Iowa State (15-5, 4-5 Big 12) couldn’t overcome a 21-point halftime deficit as the Cyclones dropped their second game to No. 20 West Virginia (18-3, 7-2 Big 12) in Morgantown, 67-56. It is the Cyclones’ fifth loss in six games.

Hallie Christofferson led the Cyclones with 18 points as she was the only Cyclone that scored in double-digits. Nikki Moody and Seanna Johnson each scored nine points.

The Mountaineers were led by Bria Holmes’ 16 points as West Virginia had four players in double-digits. The team shot 43.8% from the 3-point line en route to a 41-point first half.

Iowa State struggled to shoot again in Big 12 play, only shooting 28% from the field. The Cyclones also committed 14 turnovers in the loss.

The Cyclones will take on Kansas State in Ames on Saturday.
