It was a tale of two very different nights in Cyclone Hockey’s series with No. 11 Central Oklahoma.

Iowa State entered the series ranked No. 4 in the American Collegiate Hockey Association polls and undefeated on the year.

On Friday, Oct. 11, Iowa State picked up a 2-0 win on the back of goaltender Matt Cooper and his 35 saves on the evening.

Iowa State got its first goal on Friday night from Chris Cucullu on a power play at the 12:51 mark in the first period. John Feavel picked up an assist on the play.

The Cyclones got their second goal of the night from Nate Percy who put the puck into the net at the 6:04 mark in the second period.

The shutout win was the seventh of the year for Cooper.

The night of Saturday, Oct. 12, was a much different story for the Cyclones.

The Cyclones were never able to get the offense going and fell to the Bronchos 2-0 for their first loss of the year.

Riley Spraggs picked up goals in the both the first and second periods for Central Oklahoma.

Despite giving up two goals and suffering his first loss of the year, Cooper still came up with 31 saves on the night for the Cyclones.

Iowa State will be back at home next weekend for a series with Williston State. With a win and a loss on the weekend Iowa State goes to 9-1-0 on the year.
