The ISU soccer team gave up three second-half goals as it dropped its second conference game in a row, a 3-1 loss to Texas.

The Cyclones (6-6, 0-2) went into the half tied up at 0-0 before allowing a goal by the Longhorns only five minutes into the second half.

Texas struck again in the 62nd minute to increase its lead to 2-0.

Iowa State finally got on the scoreboard in the 83rd minute with a Jessica Reyes goal off a Koree Willer assist. It was the second straight game the Cyclones scored in the 83rd minute trailing 2-0.

The Longhorns sealed the game on a goal off of a corner kick to prevent a late rally by the Cyclones.

ISU goalkeeper Maddie Jobe recorded seven saves on Texas’ 15 shots. Iowa State took 10 shots, recording five on-goal.

The Cyclones will host Kansas on Friday in their third conference game of the season. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
