Chance the Rapper to play Memorial Union

Chance the Rapper, a Chicago-based hip hop recording artist, will perform in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for this concert, which is sponsored by Iowa State’s Student Union Board.

Chance the Rapper found success with his 2013 breakthrough mixtape “Acid Rap,” featuring Childish Gambino, Action Bronson, and Ab-Soul. His 2011 mixtape “10 Days,” recorded during a ten-day suspension during his senior year of high school, has been downloaded over 50,000 times and was featured in Forbes magazine’s “Cheap Tunes” column.

Chance is currently touring as an opener for Mac Miller’s “The Space Migration Tour” and will soon join Macklemore & Ryan Lewis as an opener for part of their 2013 World Tour.

Tickets are $15 and $10 with ISU student ID, available at Midwestix.com with a 3% MidwesTIX fee applied to all online purchases. Tickets can also be purchased at the M-Shop Box Office in person or by phone (515-294-8349), weekdays between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. A $1 per-ticket service fee is applied to all tickets ordered by phone, and all tickets are subject to an additional $2 MidwesTIX service fee.
