Iowa State percussion camp students to give free concert at campanile
June 9, 2013
High school percussionists will give a free, public concert at the Campanile on Central Campus at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013. These students are currently attending the Yamaha Sounds of Summer Marching Percussion Camp at Iowa State, a camp designed to give young percussionists access to professional percussion instruction and training. This camp, held on June 8 and 9 in Music Hall, is a collaboration between the Iowa State Music Department, Rieman Music, and the Yamaha Corporation.
In the concert, the Sounds of Summer students will demonstrate the skills and techniques they’ve learned during the two-day camp. This concert is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall, 140 Music Hall, at 6 p.m.
