Christofferson receives tryout invitation for World University Games

Forward Hallie Christofferson will get an opportunity to showcase her skills on a worldwide stage.

Christofferson is one of 31 athletes to be invited to tryout for the 2013 USA Basketball Women’s World University Games team May 16-19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Christofferson, a junior from Exira, Iowa, led Iowa State this past season with an average of 15.6 points per game and was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 first team.

In 2011, ISU coach Bill Fennelly won the gold medal as the head coach of team USA.

The Basketball Women’s World University Games will take place July 8-15 in Kazan, Russia.
