Police investigating shots fired at Zeke’s

Police officers put handcuffs on an individual in a parking lot early Sunday morning, March 10, 2013, on the corner of Lincoln Way and Franklin Avenue, across the street from Family Video.

Ames police officers heard gun shots near Zeke’s, located at 3329 Lincoln Way, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013. According to a news release, the officers saw people fighting in the parking lot and running from the area.

The news release said the investigation is currently ongoing.  

Frank Schneider, a manager at Wendy’s, said he was taking a smoking break when he heard someone shouting “Where’s the gun?” Schneider said he then heard one gunshot.
