Cyclones take third and fifth in pentathlon

ISU sophomore Bree Woelber and redshirt sophomore Kelly McCoy placed third and fifth in the women’s pentathlon Friday at the Bill Bergan Invitational.

Woelber finished third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.99) and third in the long jump (5.53m). She had a point total of 3458.

McCoy’s best finish came in the 60-meter hurdles (9.10) where she placed fourth. McCoy finished the meet with 3288 points.

Kansas State’s Bettie Wade, a volunteer assistant coach, racing unattached won the pentathlon with a score of 4170.

Wade was a six-time All-American at Michigan. She graduated in 2009, and continues to train post-collegiately with Kansas State’s head track and cross-country coach Cliff Rovelto.
