ISU women’s basketball holds on for win at Texas Tech

Just a three days after recording a home win against Texas, the ISU women’s basketball team faced another team from the state of Texas finding success once more.

The Cyclones (11-1, 2-0 Big 12) defeated Texas Tech 58-54 in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday night. The win against the Lady Red Raiders (11-3, 1-1) on Saturday pushed Iowa State atop of the Big 12 conference standings.

Forward Hallie Christofferson led the way for the Cyclones recording 13 points going 5-of-5 from the floor and 1-of-1 from the free-throw line in 26 minutes of action.

Forward Chelsea Poppens chipped in for eight points and 15 rebounds in the win with 12 coming on the defensive end.

Iowa State will travel back to the state of Texas for a contest against Baylor on Wednesday. Tip off will be at 7 p.m. in Waco, Texas.
