Cowgirls rout Cyclones in Stillwater

It was a challenging afternoon for the ISU offense as No. 24 Iowa State was defeated by No. 17 Oklahoma State 71-42 on Sunday afternoon in Stillwater, Okla.

After forward Chelsea Poppens tied the score at 15 in the first half, the Cowgirls (14-2, 3-2 Big 12) went on a 14-1 run keeping the Cyclones (13-3, 4-2) from establishing a presence on the offensive end.

Forward Hallie Christofferson led ISU scorers with 14 points and added 10 rebounds. Poppens ended the day with 9 points with only 3 rebounds.

The Cowgirls were able to slow down the Cyclones from beyond the arc with Iowa State going 5-of-24 from 3-point range.

Iowa State will host No. 1 Baylor on Wednesday night at Hilton Coliseum. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
