ISU basketball player Chris Babb will be suspended for the first three games of the season.

ISU coach Fred Hoiberg announced the information at media availability today, saying Babb violated team rules, although he wouldn’t specify what.

“I just made a mistake and I’ll learn from it,” Babb said. “I’m over it. Coach is over it. We’re just going to move forward.”

Babb said the mistake occurred last year at some point, although he said he didn’t want to go into detail.

Babb will miss Sunday’s exhibition opener against Minnesota State on Sunday and will also miss the next two games against Southern and Alabama A&M on Nov. 9 and Nov. 12.
