Iowa State sweeps West Virginia in Morgantown

In its last regular season road trip, the No. 18 ISU volleyball squad traveled to West Virginia and won in straight sets (25-13, 25-17, 25-11) on Wednesday night.

Iowa State (19-7, 12-3 Big 12) was able to begin the match on a 9-1 run and never let West Virginia (8-21, 0-15 Big 12) keep up with it throughout the night.

The Cyclones were lead by right side hitter Mackenzie Bigbee who tallied 11 kills with a .733 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Victoria Hurtt was right behind Bigbee in kills for Iowa State with 10 and a hitting percentage of .381.

Middle blocker Tory Knuth provided a spark off the bench for the Cyclones earning seven kills hitting .417 and one solo block.

Libero Kristen Hahn continued to be the anchor of the ISU defense recording 5.67 digs per set in the Cyclones second sweep of the Mountaineers this season.

Iowa State will return to Hilton Coliseum to face No. 3 Texas on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. for its final regular season match. The match against the Longhorns will be senior night for the Cyclones.
