IT Services warn of scam email

Dan Mackenzie

According to an alert on the IT services website, email users are reporting a new scam has appeared.

The alert, posted Friday morning, warns that users are reporting an email that actually comes from the solution center’s email account. The subject line or first line will read “IMPORTANT NOTICE” and tells the user that their account has been flagged for spamming.

The email directs users to a site where they are required to log in to verify their identity. This information is then taken by the scammer.

IT Services reminds email users they “will never ask for your username, password or other personal information in an email. If you receive one of these messages, delete it.”

User who have questions can email IT services at [email protected].
