President Barack Obama is set to speak at 1:10 p.m. on Central Campus on Tuesday.

Students were able to begin picking up free tickets at noon on Saturday at the Memorial Union or at the Organizing for America offices. On Sunday, an Iowa spokesman for the Obama campaign stated that tickets were still available and being handed out on campus.

Tickets are required in order to attend the event.

Gates for the event will open at 10:30 on Tuesday. Students are being asked to prepare for security similar to that of an airport. It is suggested that students bring as few items as possible to the event and that lawn chairs will most likely not be allowed into the event.

Obama’s visit to Ames will be part of a two-day college campus tour. He will also be returning to Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 1 in Des Moines.
