The Wikipad gaming tablet specs have been officially announced in an interview with Venturebeat. The device has a 10.1 inch display and comes packaged with Android’s newest operating system, 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Some of the hardware specs include the NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of DDR2 Ram and 16GB of internal storage. The battery will allow for six hours of gaming and eight hours of video playback.

The tablet comes with a gamepad attachment complete with analog sticks, controller buttons and left/right triggers. The controller will be detachable and the tablet will be able to function as a common tablet.

The Wikipad was featured at CES as a glasses-free 3D device, but the first round of models being released will be exclusively in 2D, with the possibility of future 3D releases.

The device will also feature a 2-megapixel camera in the front of the tablet and an 8-megapixel camera on the back. The tablet itself is 8.6mm thick and weighs roughly 560 grams, making it one of the lighter 10-inch tablets on the market.

The controller will fit on the Wikipad, covering part of the device and will contain an alternative speaker for better audio performance.

Pricing and release dates have not been revealed, but sources at Wikipad have mentioned the tablet will be shipped this year.
