Kal Penn, the actor most known for starring in the “Harold and Kumar” movies, will be visiting Ames Friday, Aug. 3, at 2:15 p.m. at the Ames Obama for America Iowa headquarters at 413 Northwestern Ave.

Penn is an Obama campaign co-chairman, actor and former associate director in the White House Office of Public Engagement according to a news release from the campaign office.

Penn will be meeting with young adults and ISU students about how they can get involved with the Obama campaign and join their campus teams.

“During his visit, Penn will talk to students about how they will be crucial to reelecting President [Barack] Obama by talking to and registering friends, neighbors, family and classmates. In 2008, young adults made the difference in this election, and the 2012 campaign is about reigniting that energy and momentum. OFA is giving youth the organizing and online tools they need to register and mobilize voters,” according to the release.
