Godfrey LSU transfer falls short

Former ISU men’s basketball player Calvin Godfrey’s attempt to transfer to Louisiana State University failed after he was unable to meet academic requirements.

Last year, Godfrey transferred to Howard College in Texas, where he averaged 12.6 points and seven rebounds per game last season.

LSU officials said in a statement released Monday, Aug. 20 that Godfrey has been released from his letter of intent and is not eligible to play this semester.

Godfrey was dismissed from Iowa State in the 2010-11 season after he was arrested for a marijuana possession. Earlier that same season, Godfrey was suspended for a game for violating unspecified team policies.
