Team PrISUm and their solar car Hyperion finished the American Solar Challenge in second place earlier this weekend.

The final day of competition began cloudy and rainy but changed throughout the day, slightly altering the team’s game plan, according to a news release.

The team was the fourth car to cross the finish line Saturday, July 21, but because the results are combined from each day, the team was able to hold onto second place. The news release also states the team received awards for the best mechanical and electrical components overall.

The finish marks the team’s highest-ever final standing at the annual event.
