Love is a Four Letter Word

It’s all about love and good vibes here, as one might expect from perpetual mellow man Jason Mraz. Even with his broken engagement from fellow acoustic rocker Tristan Prettyman, he remains more upbeat than ever.

The track list reads more like words we’d all like to live by, with titles like “Living In the Moment” and “The Freedom Song.” The most popular single “I Won’t Give Up” is deep and appropriately simple while delivering messages like “We’ve got a lot to learn, God knows we’re worth it.” Aside from that, the rest of the album is fun and includes a lot of nonsense lyrics like the countless “La la la la la’s” found on “Everything is Sound.”

It’s great that Mraz can still be so optimistic after all these years, even in difficult times. He’s most reminiscent of a naïve high school sophomore than anything else, but it’s this positive outlook that makes him so popular.
