This year, Veishea has partnered with Bootytronic to bring Club Veishea. The parking lot south of the Student Services building will be full of lights and sounds the Friday and Saturday of Veishea. Open to all college-age students, it is completely free.

The idea for the event came from an examination of the week as a whole.

“The executive team analyzed past events and found what we felt was missing,” said Kevin Kirwin, co-chairman of the Veishea Entertainment Committee. “We wanted to address a crowd the event as a whole hadn’t reached out to before by bringing people off of Lincoln Way and Welch and onto campus.”

From 9 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday morning, Bootytronic Suite — led by Kinky Kyro, Dr. Navarro and DJ Sassy P — along with as many as eight other local DJs will be blasting the hottest songs and flashing the brightest lights.

“The event will be a safe area for all students to come to and offer a better alternative to off-campus houses and parties,” said Rachel Owen, co-chairwoman of the entertainment committee.

There also will be a water station with drinks available.
