Kelechi Osemele has earned first-team All-America honors from Sports Illustrated in its selection for this season.

Osemele, a four-year starter on the ISU offensive line, was a co-captain on the team this year and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors as well.

Along with teammate Leonard Johnson, Osemele will also be playing in the 2012 Senior Bowl, which will be on Jan. 28 in Mobile, Ala. The event is an all-star exhibition game for college football’s best senior players to showcase their talent in preparation for the NFL.

A fellow co-captain, linebacker Jake Knott, was named an SI All-American honorable mention.

Knott, a junior from Waukee, finished second in the Big 12 in total tackles with 107 this season, averaging 8.9 per game. He also had four tackles for loss along with two interceptions and three forced fumbles this season.

Knott secured second-team All-Big 12 honors this season.
