Homecoming’s Food on Campus

Food on Campus is a tasty tradition that takes place

throughout Homecoming week, and purchasing a FOC button provides

customers with five meals for $5. Food is served from 11 to 1:30

p.m. The food options are diverse and sure to satisfy everyone’s

cravings.

Monday offers Hy-Vee Chinese; Tuesday sees Papa

John’s pizza; Wednesday serves walking tacos and Farm to ISU

apples; Thursday has Valentino’s; and Friday, pork burgers from the

Pork Producers of Iowa and Coldstone Creamery ice cream.

“Money from the button sales goes directly to our

food budget for next year’s Food on Campus in order to keep this

event available to students in future years at Iowa State

University,” said Morgan Galle, Homecoming Central member and Food

on Campus coordinator, along with Alicia Snyder.

Food on Campus is a continuing tradition because of

its ability to involve the entire Iowa State community.

“Homecoming is a time where all of Iowa State

University can celebrate our traditions, and Food on Campus is a

great way to partake in the merriment. It is one of the more public

events we have during the week, so we love to welcome everyone to

participate,” said Katie Kaiser, Homecoming general

co-chairwoman.

“It’s an event for the students to enjoy and get in

the ‘cyclone state of mind’. It is also a fun event for students to

enjoy a quality, yet inexpensive, meal with their friends on

Central Campus,” Galle said.

Aaron Williams, Homecoming general co-chairman, is

most looking forward to Monday’s meal of Hy-Vee Chinese because FOC

has “never had it as an option before, and I love their sesame

chicken.”

Not only should customers be enthusiastic about FOC

but also Homecoming Central and CySquad are psyched to be a part of

it as well.

“Personally I am looking forward to the variety of

food, and just in general, to see the number of sponsors that

support the ISU student body during Homecoming,” said Brett

Cranston, CySquad member.

“I’m so excited for Food on Campus because it is one

of the starting events for Homecoming, and it’s finally here!” said

Karson Kretschmar, a public relations co-chairwoman for Homecoming

Central. “I’m anxious to see all of the students who come and

support FOC since we’ve all worked so hard on everything this

year.”
