A high-powered offensive attack from Kansas proved to be too much for the ISU defense as the Cyclones fell to the Jayhawks on Senior Day in Ames by a score of 6-1.

The loss drops the Cyclones’ record to 8-9-1 on the season and 1-6 in Big 12 Conference play.

The lone score for Iowa State came at the 88:05 mark when freshman forward Kaeli Flaska drilled a shot past Jayhawk goalkeeper Kaitlyn Stroud on an assist from freshman midfielder Alyssa Elver. Stroud recorded seven saves for the Jayhawks.

It was all Jayhawks the rest of the game, however, as Kansas scored its six goals while only taking 17 shots. Iowa State had 19 shots on the afternoon scoring one goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maddie Jobe started the game for Iowa State, allowing five goals and recording four saves in 69:17 minutes of play before freshman Andrea Swanson was subbed in. Swanson allowed one goal and recorded no saves in 20:43 minutes of action.
