The City of Ames is asking for insight concerning the placement of the ISU Golf and Maintenance Facility at Monroe Memorial Park, according to a news release.

The city will host a public input meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss a proposed project by the university.

Iowa State has contacted the city about relocating the facility from a low-lying, flood-prone property to the southern border of the park, according to the release.

Those interested in attending should gather at the Veenker Golf Course Clubhouse, 1925 Stange Road, and park at the golf course parking lot. According to the release, the meeting will take place at the proposed building site.

At the meeting, the release stated, “ISU staff will review the history of the existing maintenance structure and the impact that high water events have on their operation. They are proposing constructing an approximately 5,000-square-foot facility at the southwest corner of Moore Memorial Park.”
