Wind Advisory in effect until Monday afternoon

Update (3:17 p.m. Monday, June 13):

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has extended today’s wind advisory until 6 p.m.

Gusts of 45-55 mph are still possible this afternoon. The weather service advisory states that the winds will slowly diminish west of I-35 during the next few hours.


The National Weather Services in Des Moines has issued a wind advisory for Story county until 3 p.m. Monday.

High winds are expected to follow this morning’s thunderstorms. The storms moving through produced a wake low or low pressue. The wake low is expected to produce easterly wind gusts of 45-55 mph, according to the advisory.
