Cold Stone franchise owner to speak to Entrepreneur Club

Stephen Siegel, franchise owner of Cold Stone Creamery, 1310 S. Duff Ave., will speak at the Entrepreneur Club on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in Curtiss 108.

This lecture is open to all majors and members and non-members of the Entrepreneur Club.

Siegel will discuss how to buy into a franchise as well as how to manage a retail store.

Cold Stone Creamery is an ice cream shop franchise that originally started in 1988 in Tempe, Ariz. In 22 years, it has grown to 1,400 locations. The store’s signature process is preparing custom creations on a frozen granite stone. The employees also sing every time they earn tips.

Siegel has heavily involved his store with the ISU community. He held the recent Cold Stone Creamery Go Greek Scholarship, which gave sorority and fraternity members the opportunity to create their own ice cream creation and enter it in a competition. The winner received a $250 scholarship.
