KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Iowa State fell to Kansas State 27-20 Saturday afternoon in Kansas City.

The Cyclones were led by quarterback Austen Arnaud who went 15-for-26 passing for 123 yards and a touchdown. Arnaud left the game late in the third quarter with an apparent injury.

He would return mid-way through the fourth quarter, but fumbled with the Cyclones trailing 24-20 with 1:58 left in the game.

The Kansas State attack was highlighted by running back Daniel Thomas, who finished with 182 yards on 34 carries and two touchdowns. Thomas averaged 5.3 yards per play.

With the loss, Iowa State falls to 1-2.

Attendance at the game was 38,468.
