Team PrISUm struggled with the first half of the American Solar Challenge, but things are looking up, according to the team’s blog.

The race is 1,100 miles long, and stretches from Tulsa, Okla., to Chicago, Ill.

The team reported they had some electrical problems Wednesday, which have been holding the team back throughout the race.

However, they said it was their best day yet.

“The experience that the race crew is gaining during this event is worth far more than any race trophy,” the team wrote in their blog.

The first day of the second leg of the race was through Missouri, where the team navigated hills, narrow bridges and a route on the interstate.

Friday the team hopes to make it before 4 p.m. to the stop at Normal, Ill..

The race will end Saturday, after eight days of competition.
