Ames testing Outdoor Warning System on May 19

Abigail Barefoot

Don’t be alarmed it is only a test.

The City of Ames Electric Services Department and the Ames Police Department will be making programming adjustments to all 15 of the city’s outdoor warning system through out the day Wednesday.

The police department would like to remind the citizens of Ames that if they hear the outdoor warning system Wednesday, do not call 911.

The testing will begin at 10 a.m., and will be finished by the end of the day. In the case of inclement weather, testing will be rescheduled for May 26.

If you have questions about the testing, contact Emergency Communications at 239-5425.
