KANSAS CITY, Mo. — (Final) ISU 23- KSU 24: The Cyclones werre unable to recover an onside kick attempt and the Wildcats were able to take a knee and end the game.

(0:32- 4th quarter) ISU 23- KSU 24: After an diving 23 yard touchdown catch by Jake Williams with 32 seconds left. Sophmore kicker Grant Mahoney had his extra point blocked. The extra point would have tied the game and likely sent it into overtime.

(5:36- 4th quarter) ISU 17- KSU 24: The Wildcats scored on a 54 yard pass from Grant Gregory to Brandon Banks.

Gregory looked like he was going to be sacked on the play as defensive end Christopher Lyle broke free in the backfield. Gregory juked him and got of a deep pass that landed in the hands of Banks, just beyond the outstreched hands of diving safty, David Sims.

(13:45- 4th quarter) The Wildcats punched into the endzone, capitalizing on the fumble by Derrick Catlett at the Iowa State 35 yard line. 

Kansas State scored on 3rd and goal from the 16 yardline. Quarterback Grant Gregory had a lot of time as he eventually found Lamark Browm in the endzone in front of James Smith, who slipped on the play.

(End of 3rd quarter) The Cyclones came out strong in the third quarter, taking a touchdown lead.

Thier next possession, however, tight end Derrick Catlett fumbled the ball on Iowa State’s 35 yard line.

As the quarter ended, Kansas State has a second and goal situation from the seven.

(7:27- 3rd quarter) ISU 17- KSU 10: After stoping the Wildcats opening drive, Iowa State took thier first possession and 80 yards in 14 plays, capped off by a three yard touchdown run by Austen Arnaud.

(Halftime) The Cyclones got off to a slow start as Kansas State was able to run all over the Cyclones, leading to the Wildcats first score.

Iowa State was able to settle down, scoring the next 10 points before Kansas State’s field goal tied the game going into the half.

The stats are almost as close as the score, with both teams running 32 plays. Kansas State has gained 192 total yards, 12 more than Iowa State.

Cyclone running back Alexander Robinson sat out the entire second quarter after slowing up at the end of a run in the first quarter. 

Freshman Jeremiah Schwartz has filled in for Robinson, gaining 26 yards on 8 carries.

(0:05- 2nd quarter) ISU 10 – KSU 10:

The Wildcats drove 10 plays and 48 yards to tie the game up with a 39 yard field goal just before the half.

(3:55- 2nd quarter) ISU 10 – KSU 7:

Iowa State completed an 11 play, 73 yard drive on a 22 yard touchdown pass from Austen Arnaud to Derrick Catlett, helping Iowa State take its first lead of the game.

(9:39- 2nd quarter) ISU 3 – KSU 7: Iowa State engineered a 13 play, 77 yard drive that ended in a 32 yard field goal. The drive was highlighted by a 37 yard run by Alexander Robinson. Jeremiah Schwartz carried the ball 5 times for 16 yards on the drive.

Redshirt freshman Jeremiah Schwartz is in the game, starting the second quarter. Alexander Robinson broke through the line with a 37 yard run to close the first quarter, but looked slow on the play. He has not returned to the field.

(End of 1st quarter) The Cyclones have struggled early against Kansas State. The Wildcats have outgained Iowa State 144 yards to 71 yards.

Iowa State has particularly had troubles against the run as Kansas State already has 87 yards rushing, many of those yards have come out of the now famous “Wildcat formation”.

The Cyclones have the ball on their own 45 yard line to start the second quarter.

(5:11- 1st quarter) ISU 0 – KSU 7: After Iowa State’s opening drive stalled at mid-field, the Wildcats took the ball and scored on a 13 play, 89 yard drive capped off on a 2-yard quarterback keeper by Grant Gregory. Kansas State only threw one pass on the drive for 6 yards.
