HOCKEY: Iowa State falls to Kent State in shootout

For the second straight week, Iowa State took a game into overtime. Saturday night, the Iowa State hockey game came down to a shootout after the Cyclones tied the game in the third period. Kent State came away with the 3-2 victory after scoring on both its attempts, while Iowa State missed both its shots.

Pete Majkozak got the Cyclones on the board with a goal half way through the third period. Cort Bulloch scored to tie the game with under seven minutes to play in the period. After a scoreless overtime, the game went to a shootout. Kent State got the puck past Iowa State goalie Paul Karus on both shots to win the game.

Iowa State is now winless on the road after losing both Friday and Saturday at Kent State.
