The ISU swimming and diving squad head into this weekend with another tough challenge ahead of them after coming off a fifth place finish a week ago at the Big 12 Relays at the Mizzou Aquatics Center in Columbia, Miss. The relays were won by a strong team from Texas A&M that finished with 109 points. The teams head east for two meets this weekend, beginning with a dual meet against Illinois State and Evansville today before moving to a matchup on Oct. 24th with Illinois at Champagne, Ill. The swim team hopes to improve on its positive showing at the Big 12 Relays by its 400 medley relay team consisting of seniors Abby Glaser, Nan Liu, Frances Calzada, and junior Jeli Nixt. The relay team showed significant improvement last week, posting a 3:50.93 in the 400 medley relay, good enough for ninth best in school history.

The divers went up against tough competition in a one-meter dive event and finished sixth place with 227.65 points with senior Tien Tran, junior Abby Christensen, and sophomore Sarah Nelson going off the diving board for the Cyclones. They had a better showing in the three-meter dive event with 236.30 points, landing them in fourth place in the event.
