HOCKEY: Iowa State sweeps Missouri with 5-1 win

The Cyclones capped off their weekend series against Missouri with a 5-1 win Saturday night at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

After scoring 13 goals in game one of the series, the Cyclones slowed down a little in game two, but still got goals from three different players, including a penalty-shot goal from Brian Rooney in the second period.

David Kurbatsky notched his second hat trick of the series – in just two games – with three goals in the game, scoring one goal in each period.

Iowa State goalie Paul Karus saved 14 of the 15 shots he saw in the first two periods before being replaced in the third.
