Two Cyclone volleyball players have been awarded Big 12 honors for the week. Junior outside hitter Victoria Henson and junior libero Ashley Mass have been named the Big 12 offensive and defensive players of the week.

For Henson, this award is the second of her career and the eighth award Mass has received. With the feat, Mass has become the female athlete at Iowa State with the most Big 12 Player of the Week honors. In the conference standings, Mass is currently tied with Texas outside hitter Destinee Hooker for most awards by a volleyball player in the Big 12.

This past weekend in the Hawkeye Challenge Henson showed her versatility as the Cyclones claimed the tournament title. The sophomore outside hitter had two double-doubles on the weekend against Iowa and Drake. Against Northern Colorado in the final game of the tournament for Iowa State, Henson finished with 11 kills.

Along with being recognized with Best Libero honors at the Hawkeye Challenge, Mass earned her conference honor after the display she put on in Iowa City last weekend. Mass, the conference leader in digs, compiled a season-high 27 digs in the first game of the tournament.

The Cyclone junior posted 18 digs in the victory over Drake on Saturday and finished with a dozen digs along with a service ace in the final game of the tournament for ISU over Northern Colorado.
