Park to become wireless hotspot

Tom Evans Park is going wireless.

The Ames City Council will hold a “wire cutting” at 5 p.m. Thursday, officially opening the park as a wireless internet hotspot, according to a press release.

The park will be the first in a series of public locations going wireless. Other locations include City Hall, the Ames and ISU Ice Arena and the new Furman water park, according to the release.
