Cyclones wrapped up their season with a 1-3 loss to Nebraska on Friday night.

At the end of the first half the Cyclones were up 1-0, after junior Casey Bothwell scored for Iowa State.

“The first half we were spot on,” said junior midfielder Elise Reid. “We were doing everything right, working hard, working smart.”

In the second half, however, the Cyclones gave up three straight goals.

“The second half we were still working hard, but a couple of times we missed the mark and we let [Nebraska] get past us when we normally wouldn’t,” Reid said.

During the second half the Cyclones started to get desperate for substitutes because Iowa State only had 16 healthy players and four subs.

Iowa State sent in back-up goalie Ashley Costanzo as a sub. Cyclones also sent in defender Meredith Manning as a forward sub.

The Cyclones ended the season with a 5-12-2 record overall and a 0-8-2 record in the Big 12 Conference.
