Daily staff writer Madison Mayberry, of Orange City, will appear on the syndicated daytime talk show “Rachael Ray” on Monday at 11 a.m.

Mayberry received a call from famed chef and show host Rachael Ray earlier this month to be a part of the “Hey, Can You Cook?!” challenge.

She is the youngest of the five finalists who are vying in a competition that concludes on the Nov. 24 program when the winner is announced.

Mayberry became a contestant after her boyfriend Garrett Skarr suggested she submit a video.

The first challenge required contestants to race through Disney World in Florida to prepare snacks.

If she wins, Mayberry will go to Paris for a two-week program at the cooking school Le Cordon Bleu.

Ray’s program airs at 11 a.m. Monday through Friday on Des Moines station WHO-TV — Channel 13.
