U.S. Rep. Tom Latham, R-Iowa, has been given a limited number of tickets to the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama on Jan. 20, according to a press release.

Tickets are available to residents of Iowa’s fourth district, which includes Ames, Boone and West Des Moines.

Those interested are asked to e-mail Latham at www.tomlatham.house.gov with their full name, address, phone number and number of tickets requested by 5 p.m., Nov. 28. According to the press release, tickets will be entered in a lottery and winners will be notified by Dec. 2 via e-mail and a letter in the mail if they are chosen to attend.

According to the press release, a restriction put in place by the Joint Inaugural Committee prohibits the mailing of inauguration tickets, so winners will need to be available to pick up their tickets between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Jan. 19 at Rep. Latham’s office in Washington, D.C. The winners will need to present proof that they live in Iowa’s fourth district.
