The Cyclones head to Oklahoma this weekend for two more Big 12 Conference games against Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.

Iowa State (5-9-2, 0-5-2 Big 12) will play No. 11 OSU on Friday, which is tied for first in the Big 12 Conference, with a 4-1-2 record.

“We need to win two of three games and tie one to have a chance in the Big 12,” said sophomore midfielder Jordan Bishop.

The Cyclones will have to deal with senior midfielder Yolanda Odenyo, who currently leads OSU in scoring, with 11 goals this season.

In the Big 12 Conference, the Cowgirls have a 3.5 goal per game average. The Cyclones have a 1.25 goal per game average.

“In practice this week we’ve been working on finishing and making the most of shot opportunities,” Bishop said.

On Sunday, the Cyclones will take on Oklahoma (2-13-1, 1-5-1).

During practice this week, the Cyclones have been focusing on pressuring their opponents.

“We’ve been working on pressuring the defense,” Bishop said, “We are focusing on trying to disrupt the defense’s attack.”

The Cyclones played hard last weekend, in Ames, and are hoping they can take that energy with them to Oklahoma. Iowa State took No.15 Colorado into two overtimes; holding on for a 0-0 tie.

The tie was only Iowa State’s second point in the conference, but had team members feeling good about their improvement.

“We just came out and finally played together for a full 90 minutes. The key was consistency, and we really played for each other,” defender Lauren Fader said after the game.
