LETTERS: Vote early for change

Marissa Cumpton

I want to encourage all Iowa State students to vote early at the Memorial Union on Tuesday, October 14th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. In this presidential election, we have the opportunity to prove that we care about our future and our children’s future. Young people across the nation are showing their support for Senator Obama, but many people are skeptical that young people will actually vote. If we want to have a say in what our future will hold, we absolutely have to vote.

Voting early at Iowa State is simple and convenient, and it is the best way to help Senator Obama’s campaign. Even if you are registered in another county, you can re-register in Ames at the same time that you vote. With everything that is at stake in this election, we simply cannot afford to stay home. Let’s prove the people wrong who say that young people don’t care about politics. Let’s get involved and show that we are ready to take control of our future.
