Des Moines woman admitted to Mary Greeley after early morning stabbing in Ames

Dalauda McKnight, 36, of Des Moines, is in a stable, non-life threatening condition, following a stab wound suffered early Saturday morning.

Ames Police Department Cmdr. Jim Robinson said in a press release that the department was notified by the Mary Greeley Medical Center, 1111 Duff Ave., at around 5:32 a.m. with a report of a female being treated for a stab wound. McKnight was admitted to the hospital following treatment. 

The investigation indicates McKnight was approached by two or three females at an undetermined Ames location and was stabbed with a knife.

Officials with Mary Greeley Medical Center said McKnight is still in the hospital.
