Cyclones take down Appalachian State 3-0

Christy Johnson became the fastest Cyclones volleyball coach to reach 60 career wins as the Cyclones hit .302 on their way to a 3-0 sweet over Appalachian State on Saturday afternoon in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Johnson reached the 60-win plateau in 102 matches, surpassing the 110 match mark set by former coach Vicki Mealer.

Victoria Henson led the Cyclones (4-2) with 15 kills, while Rachel Williams and Jen Malcom recorded seven kills apiece. Defensively, Iowa State out-blocked the Mountaineers (0-5) 10 to 5 and held their opponents to a dismal .047 hitting percentage. Ashley Mass recorded her 32nd straight match with double-digit digs, by barely notching 10 in three sets.
