Hawkeye football player arrested, charged with domestic abuse

IOWA CITY (AP) &#8212 Iowa sophomore football player Dana Brown was arrested Tuesday night and charged with domestic abuse assault. According to a police complaint, Brown allegedly picked up and slammed his live-in girlfriend, then punched her in the stomach at their residence. He also is accused of shutting her leg in a door and throwing her phone in a street. The charge is classified as a serious misdemeanor. The police complaint said that the woman had abrasions on her leg and hand. Brown was released on his own recognizance Wednesday morning from the Johnson County Jail. Brown has made four tackles for Iowa this season.
