One candidate at the Straw Poll said you won’t see him on “Law & Order,” and claims to be the ideal “anti-Hilary.”

“I have had enough of career politicians who tell you one thing and then go to Washington and do something completely different,” said John Cox, Republican presidential candidate.

Cox spoke at Hilton Coliseum on Saturday. He a businessman from Chicago who doesn’t have much political experience, but he said that helps.

“I’m not a celebrity, I’m not a congressman. I’m one of you,” he said.

He said with his background in business, he has proven that he can get the job done.

“I want results. I want solutions for these problems. Lets send a message that we want something better, that we are tired of the empty promises,” Cox said.

Cox stressed his stances on education, the tax system and health care.

According to his Web site, cox2008.com, Cox believes the government school monopoly is the problem. He believes No Child Left Behind should be repealed.

The tax system is complicated, Cox said. He wants to eliminate the IRS and supports the Fair Tax.

“We have a health care system that is too expensive,” he said.

According to his Web site, Cox would use America’s influence to end foreign governments’ subsidizing drug costs.

“We are in a life and death struggle with Islamic fascism and we have to win that,” Cox said. “I’ll be a president with a mission for change. I have an agenda for results.”
