An armed robbery occurred Wednesday night near Wallace Hall along Welch Road.

The victim told police he met with a man around 10 p.m. near the Towers dormitories for the purpose of buying a car.

While discussing the purchase of the suspect’s car, a Buick Riviera, the suspect exposed a black handgun and proceeded to take the victim’s money. The victim was not harmed.

The suspect fled the scene in a blue Ford Focus that was being driven by a white female. The suspect was accompanied by another man in a Buick Riviera.

The Ford turned east onto Mortensen Road when the cars left the area.

The suspect was described as a black male of average height and weight, wearing a white short-sleeved jersey shirt with a red number “99” on it, blue jeans, work shoes and safety glasses. Police said the suspect has a mark or boil on his chin and a tattoo of a woman on his arm.
