BREAKING NEWS: Decision made on Gonzalez appeal

A decision has been made in the appeal case of Guillermo Gonzalez, assistant professor of physics and astronomy, by President Gregory Geoffroy.

John McCarroll, executive director of university relations, said that as of Friday morning the decision has been delivered to Gonzalez. McCarroll said he could not release the information because it was a “personnel” situation.

Gonzalez and Geoffroy could not be reached for comment.

Gonzalez was denied tenure back in March. Many proponents of Gonzalez think he was discriminated against for his support of the intelligent design theory. He appealed the decision to Geoffroy, who had until June 6 to rule on the matter.
