An Ames bank was robbed today and police are still searching for the suspect.

According to an Ames Police press release, the River Valley Credit Union, 2811 E. 13th St., was robbed Monday afternoon. The suspect, was reportedly holding a metal object in his hand, possibly a knife according to the press release.

The suspect is described as a “white male adult, 5’7” to 5’9” or slightly taller, stocky build, salt/pepper colored hair, wearing a long sleeve blue shirt, khaki colored or faded jeans, and a blue colored cloth mask,” according to the press release.
