WTRACK: Women’s track team bound for Texas Relays

Brian Guillaume

The ISU women’s track team will once again split squads this weekend and be represented in two different parts of the country. A majority of the squad will head to Northern Iowa and compete in the UNI Messersmith Invite, while others fly to Austin, Texas, to represent the Cyclones in the Texas Relays.

The Texas Relays, the premier track event in Texas, will feature professional athletes from all over the nation along with one of the strongest collegiate fields the Cyclones will see this outdoor season. The Texas Relays also holds a high school division for some of the top high school athletes in the nation.

The Texas Relays will provide the Cyclones the opportunity to run against not only the best in the nation but some of the Big 12’s finest runners. This will be the Cyclones’ first chance of the outdoor season to see how they stack up against the rest of Big 12 in future meets.
